Charlie Hunnam Applauds Prince Harry and Meghan, Wants to Act with Her - TMZ
Charlie Hunnam is applauding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for going rogue on the Royals, and he's hoping he and Meghan cross paths on a movie set sometime.
We got the "Sons of Anarchy" star at LAX and asked the proper Englishman for his take on Megxit. After all, he's a royal subject ... so this stuff means more to him than the average Yankee.
Charlie says Harry and Meghan deserve their autonomy. The way he sees it, Queen Elizabeth's heirs didn't ask to be born into the Royal Family and all that entails. He also has a bone to pick with the British media and the way they treat the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Seems he's got a soft spot for Harry.
Most folks think Meghan's destined to return to showbiz -- Harry recently pitched her voice-over work to Disney's Bob Iger -- and Charlie's definitely on board with that.
It's pretty funny ... we kinda made Charlie squirm a bit when we asked if he could see himself in a romantic comedy opposite Meghan. You gotta see how he tried to avoid saying anything to cross the crown. Still, he has movie plans for the Duchess. Don't worry, Harry ... no sex scenes.
TMZ is investigating what really went down between Harry, Meghan, the Queen and the whole Royal family. Watch our special, "Harry and Meghan: The Royals in Crisis" on Fox network January 29 at 8 PM.

11 Americans Were Hurt in Iranian Strike, Military Says, Contradicting Trump - The New York Times
Eleven American troops were treated for concussions after Iranian missiles struck two Iraqi bases where the servicemembers were stationed, the military said on Thursday, contradicting earlier statements by President Trump that no Americans had been injured.
The Jan. 8 attack on bases near Baghdad and Erbil, Iraq, were launched in retaliation for the killing of Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, a senior figure in Iran’s military, in a drone strike ordered by Mr. Trump.
“While no U.S. servicemembers were killed in the Jan. 8 Iranian attack on Al Asad air base, several were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed,” Capt. Bill Urban, a spokesman for United States Central Command, said in a statement.
In a speech, Mr. Trump had said that no Americans were hurt in the strike, in which at least a dozen missiles were fired.
“I’m pleased to inform you the American people should be extremely grateful and happy,” the president said on Jan. 8. “No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime.”
Captain Urban said the injured troops were taken to American military sites in Germany and Kuwait to undergo screening, and that “when deemed fit for duty, the servicemembers are expected to return to Iraq.”
The lack of American deaths in the strikes was a welcome relief to American officials, who had feared General Suleimani’s killing could set off a larger regional conflict. By Jan. 9, the day after the strike, both countries had publicly said they would de-escalate direct military action.
The general’s death and the subsequent missile strike, however, set other events in motion, including the accidental downing of a Ukrainian passenger jet in Tehran by the Iranian military, in which 176 people were killed, and a resolution by the Iraqi Parliament calling for the expulsion of foreign forces from the country.

Rouhani: Iran enriching more uranium than before 2015 deal - Al Jazeera English
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that his country is enriching more uranium than Tehran did before it agreed to a nuclear deal with world powers in 2015.
"We are enriching more uranium before the deal was reached ... Pressure has increased on Iran but we continue to progress," Rouhani said on Thursday in a televised speech.
More:
Iran has gradually scaled back its commitments under the nuclear deal, signed with the US, China, Russia, Germany, France and the UK, in retaliation for Washington's withdrawal from the pact in 2018 and its reimposition of sanctions that have crippled the country's economy.
Earlier in the week, the United Kingdom, France and Germany challenged Tehran over breaking the limits set out in the deal.

The European nations announced that they triggered the dispute mechanism provided for in the landmark agreement in order to force Tehran to honour its commitments under the accord, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
On Thursday the EU's top diplomat Josep Borrell held "frank" direct talks with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in New Delhi.
"In a frank dialogue, they discussed the latest developments around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action," the European Union said in a statement.
The face-to-face talks on the sidelines of a conference were the first following a series of telephone calls since a US drone strike killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani on January 3.
EU officials have said Iran already expressed anger at the European move by telephone.
'Prevent military confrontation'
Tensions in the region have simmered in recent months after a series of attacks in the Gulf region that the US blamed on Iran and aligned groups, despite denials from Tehran.
Fears of a military escalation soared in early January after the assassination of Soleimani in an air strike in Baghdad, prompting Iran to fire a barrage of missiles at a military base housing US troops in Iraq.
In his speech on Thursday, Rouhani said that the Iranian retaliation - which caused significant material damage but no casualties according to the US military - had strengthened Iranian deterrence against the "threats" of US President Donald Trump.
But despite the continuing tensions, Rouhani said Tehran was working daily "to prevent military confrontation and war" and that dialogue with the world remained "possible".
The 2015 nuclear deal imposed restrictions on the Iranian nuclear programme in exchange for a reprieve from international sanctions.
After unilaterally withdrawing, the US has reimposed a range of sanctions on Tehran and called for negotiations over a new accord.
Iran has rejected the idea of negotiating a new deal while it is under sanctions.
In response to the US move, Tehran has begun enriching uranium above the cap agreed in the deal and taken further steps to enhance its nuclear programme, while also accusing the European parties to the deal of failing to live up to their own commitments to provide economic relief to Tehran.
Iran had been enriching uranium at 20 percent purity before it signed the deal, which capped enrichment at 3.67 percent.
Al Jazeera's Assed Baig reporting from Tehran said that Rouhani had sent a defiant message to the world, saying that Iran is reducing committments, but also adding that these reductions are reversible if European countries return to their obligations to that deal.
"He's saying to European countries that they need to stand up to the US," Baig said.
"These sanctions have hit Iran's oil sector, the banking sector and the economy and he accepted this - that Iran's oil exports have been reduced, but the economy is still working, according to Rouhani."
Rouhani defended the 2015 nuclear deal in his speech saying, "we have proven in practice that it is possible for us to interact with the world".

Putin's party backs president's pick for prime minister - Al Jazeera English
Mikhail Mishustin, a former tax official little known both outside and even within Russian political circles, is set to be the nation's new prime minister, having on Thursday morning received the backing of the governing party.
Mishustin has been hand-picked by President Vladimir Putin to oversee a new government, charged with implementing a range of constitutional reforms that could see the Russian president remain in power in some form after his term of office expires in 2024.
More:
Wednesday's shock resignation of Russia's entire government followed Putin's calls for widespread reforms to Russia's power structures, with former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev saying the president deserved to have the type of government he wanted while the reforms were pushed through.
Medvedev will remain in office until his successor formally takes over, when the long-standing Putin ally will begin a new role in charge of defence and security in Russia's highly influential Security Council.

Some analysts are suggesting 67-year-old Putin, who is two years into his fourth presidential term and has steered the country since 1999, could be laying the groundwork to assume a new position or remain in a powerful behind-the-scenes role.
It is unclear whether Mishustin, a technocrat whose recent career revolved around the tax service, is a temporary placeholder or could be groomed as Putin's successor.
But his approval was imminent after the United Russia party - which holds 75 percent of seats in the lower house of the Russian parliament - gave its backing on Thursday morning.
"We decided to unanimously support the candidature suggested by our national leader for the post of the head of government," the head of United Russia's parliamentary faction, Sergei Neverov, told journalists.
Legislators are due to discuss and vote on Mishustin's nomination at a plenary session at 11:00 GMT.
'Staying number one'
In his state of the nation speech, Putin said he wanted more authority transferred to Parliament from the president, including the power to choose the prime minister and cabinet members.
He also called for the power of the State Council, an advisory body, to be expanded and enshrined in the constitution - adding to conjecture that Putin could take it over after 2024 to preserve power.
Outlining the proposals, which would be the first significant changes to the country's constitution since it was adopted in 1993, Putin said there was a "demand for change" among Russians.
He was set to meet on Thursday with a newly created working group to develop constitutional amendments.
A list of more than 70 names joining the group published by the Kremlin includes conservative public figures as well as celebrities like actor Vladimir Mashkov and pianist Denis Matsuev.
Independent political analyst Maria Lipman said the announcements indicated that Putin wanted to "stay on as number one in the country, without any competitors".
She said he could be deliberately weakening the presidency before relinquishing the role.
Russia's opposition also said the proposals indicate Putin's desire to stay in power.

Opposition leader Alexei Navalny said on Twitter that Putin's only goal was to "remain the sole leader for life".
'Faceless functionary'
Once 53-year-old Mishustin is appointed he will have a week to propose a new government and ministers.
He told United Russia that some changes in the cabinet would be made but did not elaborate, legislator Viktor Vodolatsky told Interfax.
Mishustin, the former head of an investment group who trained as an engineer, has a PhD in economics and has led Russia's Federal Tax Service since 2010.
He shares Putin's love for hockey and has been seen at matches with security services officials.
Former opposition legislator Gennadiy Gudkov called Mishustin "a new faceless functionary without ambition" who embodies a system that is "detrimental for the economy".
