Donald Trump has waged war on Twitter after it flagged his tweets with a fact-check warning for the first time.
The US president has claimed the social media platform is "interfering in the 2020 presidential election" and "completely stifling FREE SPEECH" after it added a warning to two of his tweets on Tuesday.
Mr Trump had earlier tweeted that mail-in ballots were "fraudulent" and said "mail boxes will be robbed".
Under the tweets, there is now a link reading "Get the facts about mail-in ballots" that takes users to a Twitter "moments" page with fact checks and news stories about Mr Trump's unsubstantiated claims.
There is also a "what you need to know" box highlighting three separate claims about postal voting by the president and why they are incorrect.
Mr Trump reacted by tweeting: "Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election.
"They are saying my statement on mail-in ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post.
"Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as president, will not allow it to happen!"
Twitter had, until Tuesday, declined to apply its community guidelines and others rules to Mr Trump who repeatedly tweets out claims without backing them up.
However, the new warning labels suggest the president has finally crossed a line the company was not willing to budge from.
The warnings came after he continued to claim former Republican representative Joe Scarborough killed an aide in his office 20 years ago.
The body of Lori Kay Klausutis, 28, was found in Mr Scarborough's Florida office on 20 July, 2001, while he was in Washington DC.
Mr Trump has repeatedly tried to implicate Mr Scarborough, who now hosts MSNBC's Morning Joe show.
Mrs Klausutis' husband, Timothy J Klausutis, wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey last week, saying: "My request is simple: please delete these tweets."
He said Mr Trump has added to the ongoing "bile and misinformation" spread about his wife which has made it difficult for him to move on with his life.
Mr Trump tweeted earlier this month: "When will they open a Cold Case on the Psycho Joe Scarborough matter in Florida.
"Did he get away with murder? Some people think so. Why did he leave Congress so quietly and quickly? Isn't it obvious? What's happening now? A total nut job!"
He again tweeted about it on Tuesday.
In his letter, Mr Klausutis said his wife had an undiagnosed heart condition, fell and hit her head on her desk at work, which was confirmed by medical officials.
