VE Day - or Victory in Europe Day - will on Friday commemorate the 75th anniversary of the acceptance by the Allies of World War 2 of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces. There were events planned across the UK for this occaision, however, these have been cancelled or moved onto TV amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Some events are still taking place - with a day full of commemorative programmes on BBC, and things individual people can do to take part in the day.
Britons are asked to decorate their homes in red, white and blue, to have a 'stay at home street party'.
The Queen will address the nation at 9pm on Friday, and earlier in the day Prince Charles will read an extract from the diary of George VI written on the day victory in Europe was announced.
A moment of silence will also take place, as well as a singalong to Dame Vera Lynn's song We'll Meet Again, and an RAF Red Arrows flypast.
