The president delivered a speech last night making unfounded claims about fraud and accusing the Democrats of corruption. 

Multiple major US news networks cut away from the president's statement as he provided no evidence to support his claims. 

"That is the president of the United States. That is the most powerful person in the world. We see him like an obese turtle on his back flailing in the hot sun, realising his time is over. He just hasn't accepted it and he wants to take everybody down with him, including the country," - CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper, commenting following Mr Trump's address.

"As we said on July 19, the American people will decide this election. And the United States Government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House." - the Biden campaign, in a statement after the president's speech referring to suggestions Mr Trump could refuse to leave the White House.

"Not a single Republican has been able to look at any one of these mail ballots. They could be from Mars as far as we're concerned, or they could be from the Democratic National Committee. Joe Biden could have voted 50 times." - Rudy Giuliani, Trump advisor. 

Mr Giuliani made the unfounded claims as the Trump campaign announced it was suing to temporarily halt vote counting in Philadelphia. 

"What the president needs to do frankly is put his big-boy pants on, he needs to acknowledge the fact that he lost and he needs to congratulate the winner just as Jimmy Carter did, just as George HW Bush did, and frankly just as Al Gore did and stop this and let us move forward as a country." - the Democrat mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney.
