Holidays on the brink as more countries risk being added to quarantine list - here's where - Express

As of 4am today, anyone arriving from Croatia, Austria or Trinidad and Tobago must now quarantine for two weeks. The announcement came this week after the countries recorded spikes in coronavirus cases. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps made the announcement on Thursday evening in a series of Tweets.

Mr Charles said that Switzerland, Iceland and the Czech Republic could be “edging towards red and possible quarantine.”

All three countries are moving towards having 20 cases per 100,000 people.

Greece and Turkey have managed to remain in the clear despite seeing a rise in cases.

Switzerland is currently the most likely to be added to the “red list”.

Switzerland has a rate of 19.3 cases per 100,000 people over a period of seven days.

So far, the country has recorded 39,627 cases of coronavirus and 2,000 deaths.

Yesterday, it recorded 306 new cases of the deadly virus.

Scotland has removed the country from their safe list but Britons can currently travel there without facing 14 days in quarantine on their return.

However, the government’s advice is changing on a weekly basis.

Iceland is also at risk with 18.8 cases per 100,000 people over a seven day period.

The country has recorded 2,058 cases, at the time of writing and only 10 deaths from the virus.

Yesterday, the country recorded 10 new cases.

Anyone flying into Iceland must choose to pay to be tested for coronavirus or self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.

Czech Republic is also at risk with 17.4 cases per 100,000 people.

The country has had 21,551 cases of coronavirus and 411 deaths, at the time of writing.

Although the case rate is low, the Czech authorities reported 506 new cases yesterday which is a record daily increase for the nation.

There are currently no restrictions in place on entering the Czech Republic if you are travelling from the UK.
