And Trump, standing on a stage adorned with American flags, tossed his hastily assembled script in the dustbin, as he had done so many times before. “This is a fraud on the American public,” he insisted, launching a stream of baseless attacks on the growing perception that Joe Biden had prevailed. “This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win the election. Frankly, we did win this election.”
